Cierra is a Livermore native who started her journalism career as an intern and later staff reporter for the Pleasanton Weekly after graduating from CSU Monterey Bay with a bachelor's degree in journalism and media studies. Over the last decade, Cierra has worked in print, digital media, television and radio. Upon earning a master's degree in digital communications from Syracuse University in 2020, she returned to Embarcadero Media and is now the East Bay division editor. Aside from writing, Cierra enjoys spending quality time with loved ones and her dog Bella, binging crime dramas, practicing yoga and community organizing.

Livermore council gives initial support for amending tobacco retailer ordinance

After hearing from officials with the Livermore Police Department Monday about their challenges to enforcing tobacco retailer laws, the City Council expressed support for amending the city’s municipal code to include compliance monitoring and inspection authority by city officials and the discretion to utilize administrative fines and penalties.
